AAC Alimosho Demands Investigation Into Deadly Ikola Violence

Party Calls for Transparent Investigation

The African Action Congress (AAC), Alimosho Local Government Area, has condemned the violent incident reported around Power Line Bus Stop in Ikola, Lagos State, which resulted in loss of lives, injuries and destruction of property.

In a statement signed by the party’s Alimosho LGA Chairman, Comrade Samuel Jimoh, and Secretary, Comrade David Umoh, the party expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives and residents and businesses affected by the incident.

AAC Alimosho called on the Lagos State Government and relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough, transparent and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the violence.

The party also urged authorities to ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice.

While calling for accountability, AAC Alimosho appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, warning against reprisal attacks and other actions capable of escalating tensions in the area.

The party further urged residents to reject ethnic profiling and the spread of unverified information, stressing that such actions could worsen an already tense situation.

“Peaceful coexistence remains the only way forward,” the party stated.

AAC Alimosho said it remains committed to the protection of lives, justice, accountability and the promotion of peace across the community.

The statement was issued in solidarity with residents affected by the incident and called for efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace in Alimosho.
