‘I Don’t Like Cooking’ - Davido’s Sister Sharon Reveals What She Told Her Husband While Dating

Sharon, the sister of Nigerian music star Davido, has revealed how she told her husband early in their relationship that although she knows how to cook, she does not enjoy cooking.

Sharon shared the experience during a recent episode of The Morayo Show, where she discussed her marriage, her upbringing in a wealthy family and her role in managing aspects of her brother Davido’s finances.

Reflecting on her relationship with her husband, whom she dated before they got married in 2013, Sharon said she has always valued open communication and was honest with him about her expectations from the beginning.

She recalled that during the early weeks and months of their relationship, she would visit his home and prepare meals for him.

According to Sharon, after preparing a meal, she asked him whether he enjoyed it. After he responded positively, she told him to enjoy it because she wanted him to know that she was capable of cooking.

She said she later made her position clear, telling him: “So now you know I know how to cook, but I don’t like cooking. And I hope that’s not going to be a problem.”

Sharon said she believed being honest about her preferences from the beginning helped establish clear expectations in the relationship.

She also spoke about growing up in a wealthy family, explaining that being born into a family with significant wealth does not necessarily mean having unlimited access to money.

“When you are born into a family office, family wealth, structure, there is structure. So you don’t just get to go into a coffer and take whatever,” she said.

According to her, members of wealthy families can still be expected to operate within budgets or financial limits.

She added that while people born into wealthy families may have access to more resources than the average person, their access to cash is not necessarily unlimited.

Sharon also discussed her brother Davido’s spending habits, particularly his interest in jewellery and cars, revealing that they regularly have conversations about his finances.

Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya announces cancellation of his wedding to Gift Oriaku

A man identified as Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya has announced the cancellation of his wedding to Miss Gift Oriaku, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Ogbonnaya made the announcement in a statement shared on social media, informing the public that the planned wedding had been called off due to what he described as “irreconcilable developments that just arose.”

“I sincerely regret and apologize to everyone for any inconveniences this may have caused and I appeal that the public should please bear with me even as I implore your continued prayers and support,” he stated.

He did not disclose details of the developments that led to the cancellation.

The statement also contained a clarification from Rev. Isaac Echechukwu Ogbonnaya, who identified himself as Samuel’s elder brother. The cleric clarified that it was his younger brother, Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya, who cancelled the wedding, and not him.

“Please it is my younger brother Mr Samuel Isaac Ogbonnaya that cancelled his wedding not me, The Revd Isaac Echechukwu Ogbonnaya,” the clarification stated.

He urged members of the public to be properly informed about the development.

The announcement came shortly before the scheduled wedding ceremony, with Samuel asking for understanding, prayers and support from family, friends and members of the public.

Adaeze Oputa: Charly Boy’s Daughter Who Married a Man in 2018 Is Now Engaged to a Woman

Adaeze Oputa with her partner as she announces their engagement

Adaeze Oputa, daughter of Nigerian entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has attracted attention after announcing her engagement to a woman, years after she previously married a man.

Adaeze announced the engagement on Instagram, sharing a photograph with her partner and revealing that they had taken the next step in their relationship.

“WE’RE ENGAGED!” she wrote, accompanying the announcement with the hashtag #mrsandmrs.

She also expressed excitement about their future together, writing, “Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, growth, and making beautiful memories together. I can’t wait for everything God has in store for us. Forever sounds even sweeter with you.”

Her father, Charly Boy, also publicly celebrated the engagement by sharing a video from the occasion on Instagram.

“My beautiful Princess and her Husband. Folks, wish dem well for me,” he wrote.

The latest development has drawn attention partly because Adaeze was previously married to a man, Steve Metu Anu.

Reports from December 2017 showed that Charly Boy had announced that his daughter was preparing to marry, describing her as his “Royal Princess” and wishing her a successful marriage.

In February 2018, Adaeze and Steve Metu Anu held their traditional wedding in Abuja. Reports at the time identified Steve as Adaeze’s husband and said Charly Boy hosted the traditional ceremony at his residence in Gwarinpa Estate.

The Nation reported at the time that Charly Boy celebrated the union on social media, referring to the couple as “Mr and Mrs Anu.”

There is, however, limited reliable public information available about what happened to Adaeze’s previous marriage, including when it ended or the circumstances surrounding its end. It would therefore be speculative to describe her as divorced or separated without further evidence.

The current engagement announcement has generated varying reactions online, with some social media users discussing the nature of the relationship and others focusing on Charly Boy’s public support for his daughter.

Charly Boy has over the years been known for his unconventional public persona and outspoken views on social issues. His daughter has also previously spoken about her relationship with her father and the public attention surrounding the Oputa family.

In a 2016 interview with The Punch, Adaeze described herself as Charly Boy’s first daughter and spoke about her family, career and relationship with her father.

The latest announcement has now brought Adaeze’s personal life back into the public spotlight, with her father publicly celebrating what she described as the beginning of a new chapter with her partner.

Your Husband Is Your Number One Priority — Pastor Mary Abioye Advises Married Women

Pastor Mary Abioye speaking about marriage and career responsibilities
Pastor Mary Abioye has urged married women to remain intentional about their homes and marriages while pursuing their careers.

Pastor Mrs. Mary Abioye has advised married women to remain intentional about their homes and marriages despite the demands of their careers.

Abioye made the remarks during a discussion on balancing professional responsibilities with marriage, where she responded to a question about how working wives, particularly those employed in banks, should manage household responsibilities.

According to the pastor, having a demanding career should not cause a woman to neglect her husband or home.

“You work in the bank, but you didn’t marry bank,” she said, emphasizing the need for married women to deliberately make time for their families.

Abioye also suggested that working wives could make use of available breaks during the workday to attend to some responsibilities at home, where practical.

She shared her personal experience, recalling how she would prepare a meal for her husband, set the table and leave a note for him before returning to work.

“Everybody has one hour break in any establishment. You can rush home and say, ‘Let me prepare the food for my husband,’” she said.

The pastor further warned that becoming overly consumed by career demands could have consequences for a woman’s marriage.

“You can work in the bank and lose your home,” she cautioned.

Abioye also expressed reservations about wives completely transferring household responsibilities to domestic workers, stressing that married women should remain personally intentional about caring for their husbands and maintaining their homes.

Her comments reflect her personal perspective on how married women can balance career demands with family responsibilities.
