House of Tenposs, an innovation hub founded by Ayoola Ojo, is set to open in Lagos with four projects focused on circular design, technology, publishing and wellness.

Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and Titilayo “Titi” Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, are listed to attend the opening scheduled for October 1, 2026, at 101 Aromire Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. Keyamo is expected to be represented by a senior delegate.

The opening, themed “Ownership — Create. Own. Build.”, will also feature Jesudamilare “JD” Adesegun-David, Co-Founder of Enovate Lab.

The four projects being unveiled are WINCA Lab, Intelli-Merge, OUCH Books and Nutrika.

WINCA Lab is focused on circular design and climate innovation, with an emphasis on transforming discarded materials and overlooked systems into new products and economic opportunities. The platform works across areas including material innovation, product redesign, circular manufacturing, sustainable gifting and green jobs.

Intelli-Merge is being developed as an outcome-focused operating system designed to connect people, platforms, data and transactions around a specific goal. Rather than requiring users to navigate multiple disconnected tools and processes, the system is designed to create a coordinated path from intention to execution.

OUCH Books is focused on presenting serious ideas, life lessons and complex subjects through relatable storytelling. Its concept extends beyond conventional books into formats such as short-form content, animation, audio, film and educational conversations.

Nutrika is a wellness and nutrition platform built around nutrition science, dietitians, real food and product design. Its planned areas include drinks, meals, functional foods, personalised nutrition and institutional nutrition programmes.

According to the concept behind House of Tenposs, the space is designed as a contemporary hub centred on innovation, technology and opportunities, bringing different ideas and ventures together under one platform.

The October 1 opening will therefore serve not only as the formal launch of House of Tenposs but also as the platform for introducing the four projects to invited attendees and the wider public.

Keyamo is listed as the Guest of Honour on the event flyer, although he is expected to be represented by a senior delegate according to the information presented.

Titi Oshodi serves as the Lagos State Governor’s Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy, with her work covering areas including climate policy, clean energy, circular economy and sustainability. Her inclusion comes as House of Tenposs prepares to unveil WINCA Lab, a circular innovation initiative focused on transforming waste into creative and functional products, alongside three other projects.

The House of Tenposs is being introduced as a contemporary space focused on innovation, technology and opportunities, rather than a conventional office or business centre.

The opening ceremony will also feature the launch of four projects — OUCH Books, Intellimerge, Nutrika and WINCA Lab.

Ayoola Ojo, Founder and CEO of House of Tenposs, is expected to lead the opening of the innovation hub.

Trump Says US Will Now Call AI ‘Super Intelligence’ in Government Documents

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the American government will begin referring to artificial intelligence as “super intelligence” in its official documents.

Trump made the announcement on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, during his address to the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The announcement follows several comments by Trump in recent days about the terminology used to describe artificial intelligence.

According to Reuters, Trump said U.S. government documents would henceforth use the term “super intelligence” instead of “artificial intelligence.”

Trump had previously questioned the phrase “artificial intelligence,” arguing that the word “artificial” was inaccurate and not an appropriate description of the technology.

On September 19, he asked his followers on Truth Social to consider alternative names, including “Super Intelligence,” “Extreme Intelligence” and “Supreme Intelligence.”

By September 21, Trump was using “SI,” meaning “Super Intelligence,” in his public comments about the technology.

During his UN address, Trump also defended continued development of AI and opposed the introduction of new regulations that he believes could slow the technology’s growth. Reuters reported that he said U.S. law-enforcement agencies could intervene if necessary, while maintaining that the technology should continue to develop.

Trump’s announcement concerns terminology used by the U.S. government and does not itself change the established technical meaning or international use of the term “artificial intelligence.”

The term “superintelligence” already has a separate meaning in technology and academic discussions. It is commonly used to describe a hypothetical form of machine intelligence that would surpass human cognitive abilities across a broad range of tasks. The United Nations has previously used the expression “artificial super intelligence” in discussions about possible future AI systems.

The announcement therefore represents a proposed change in U.S. government terminology rather than a global renaming of artificial intelligence.

Trump’s remarks come as governments and technology companies continue to debate the development, regulation and potential risks of increasingly capable AI systems.

OpenAI Says AI Model Solved 200-Year-Old Navier-Stokes Problem

OpenAI says an internal artificial intelligence model has solved the Navier-Stokes problem, one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems regarded as among the most challenging unsolved questions in mathematics.

The company made the claim in a statement released Tuesday, saying its unreleased model completed a solution to the 200-year-old mathematical problem involving the behavior and motion of fluids.

According to OpenAI, the system took about 88 hours to work through the problem and used as many as 10,000 AI agents operating partly concurrently.

“This milestone represents substantial work by mathematicians and AI researchers. However, this is not a culmination, but rather a snapshot in time, of progress on AI development,” the company said.

The announcement has, however, drawn attention within the mathematics community over questions surrounding the development and verification of the claimed solution.

The night before OpenAI's announcement, New York University mathematics professor Tristan Buckmaster released a statement saying he and Anthropic researcher Levent Alpöge had also been working on the Navier-Stokes problem.

Buckmaster said their work had been ongoing since the previous year and involved several large language models, including OpenAI's Codex. He said the researchers contacted OpenAI as they prepared to make their own results public and subsequently learned that OpenAI researchers were preparing to announce a similar development.

Buckmaster stressed that he was not accusing OpenAI of using his team's work.

“I have not seen OpenAI’s proof. I do not know what their model did, or how. I do not know whether our data was used. I am not accusing anyone of anything,” he said.

OpenAI said its work on the problem began on September 1 after researchers heard what the company described as a rumour that another Millennium Prize Problem had been solved.

The company said its AI agents had access to tools including a cached version of the internet and the ability to run code. However, OpenAI said the agents did not see Buckmaster and Alpöge's work before it was publicly released and that no specific user data was accessed to solve the problem.

OpenAI said it later offered Buckmaster and Alpöge the opportunity for a concurrent release of their results, as well as access to the prompts used by its system and the opportunity to examine the proof.

The company also released a Lean formal proof alongside its announcement.

However, OpenAI acknowledged that it could not completely rule out the possibility that de-identified data from users of its products may have contributed to improvements in its models.

The development has also prompted broader discussion about the role of artificial intelligence in mathematical research.

Terence Tao, a mathematics professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, said the use of AI in advanced mathematical research could change how mathematicians' approach difficult problems. He also expressed concern that excessive reliance on AI could reduce the value of the process of mathematical discovery.

The Navier-Stokes problem concerns equations used to describe the motion of fluids and asks, in part, whether solutions to those equations remain smooth under relevant conditions.

The problem is one of seven Millennium Prize Problems selected by the Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000. The institute offered a $1 million prize for a correct solution to each problem.

So far, only one of the seven problems—the Poincaré Conjecture—has been officially recognised as solved.

OpenAI said it does not intend to claim the $1 million Millennium Prize for its reported Navier-Stokes result.

The company's announcement therefore represents a significant claim about the capabilities of AI in advanced mathematics, while the mathematical community continues to examine and assess the reported solution.

IGP Disu Launches Vigilant App, MTN Network to Strengthen Fraud Reporting and Police Communication

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu has launched the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App and the NPF–MTN Closed User Group Network as part of efforts to improve financial-fraud reporting, public engagement and communication among police personnel nationwide.

Disu unveiled the two initiatives on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the NPF Conference Centre in Jabi, Abuja.

The Vigilant App is a citizen-facing platform developed by the Force ICT Department in collaboration with stakeholders in the financial-services sector. It is designed to give members of the public a faster channel to report suspected financial fraud to the police.

According to the Nigeria Police Force, users of the platform can submit fraud reports, upload supporting evidence, monitor the progress of their cases and receive feedback. The platform is also expected to facilitate coordination between the police and relevant institutions in the financial-services ecosystem.

The NPF–MTN CUG Network, meanwhile, is designed specifically for police personnel across the country. The dedicated network is expected to provide secure and affordable on-net communication, helping officers improve coordination, emergency response and operational communication between commands and units.

Speaking at the launch, IGP Disu described the initiatives as practical steps in the Force’s ongoing digital-transformation efforts.

He said the Vigilant App would strengthen engagement between the police and members of the public, while the CUG Network would improve communication within the Force and contribute to a more connected and responsive police service.

Disu also stressed that the use of technology in policing must remain lawful, ethical and responsible, with proper consideration for citizens’ rights, privacy, data protection and accountability.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Information and Communication Technology, Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha, said the initiatives reflected the Force’s determination to deploy practical technology-driven solutions to improve service delivery and strengthen engagement with the public.

He urged Nigerians to download the Vigilant App through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and use it responsibly when reporting suspected financial fraud.

The launch brought together representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion, the Police Service Commission, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, financial institutions, fintech companies, MTN Nigeria, Vigilant Technology Limited, TIMPH International Limited and other stakeholders.

The Nigeria Police Force said the initiatives were developed through collaboration with relevant government agencies and private-sector partners as part of efforts to make policing more accessible, responsive and technology-driven.

The Force further reaffirmed its commitment to using innovation and strategic partnerships to improve public safety, strengthen operational effectiveness and deliver more people-centred policing services across Nigeria.

OPay Debunks Viral Message Claiming It Will Shut Down Operations From September 1

OPay has dismissed as false a viral message claiming that the financial technology company would suspend operations indefinitely from September 1, 2026.

The message, which circulated widely on social media, purportedly came from OPay management and advised customers to withdraw their funds ahead of an alleged “long indefinite break.”

It further claimed that OPay would stop processing transactions and providing account-related services until further notice, urging customers to remove their money from their accounts to avoid inconvenience.

However, OPay has described the message as completely false, reassuring customers that its operations will continue.

“This is FALSE!” OPay stated in a response to the viral message.

“OPay is not going on break by September. We’re here, and we’re going nowhere!”

The company also warned customers to be cautious of fake communications and urged them to verify information before acting on messages circulating online.

According to OPay, the viral notice contains several red flags that distinguish it from the company’s genuine communications.

“True OPay users know how to identify our official communications. Take a closer look at the viral post and you’ll spot the red flags,” the company said.

OPay encouraged its customers and members of the public to disregard the viral announcement and rely on the company’s verified communication channels for information concerning its services.

The clarification comes amid growing concern among customers who may have been alarmed by the message, particularly the instruction to withdraw funds before September 1.

OPay’s response confirms that there is no announced plan for the company to suspend its operations or embark on an indefinite break from September 2026.

Customers are therefore advised not to panic or transfer funds based solely on unverified messages shared on social media or messaging platforms.

WhatsApp to Charge Nigerian Businesses for Certain Messages From October 1

Meta-owned WhatsApp is set to introduce new charges for certain messages sent by businesses in Nigeria through the WhatsApp Business Platform from October 1, 2026.

The development has generated concern among Nigerian users and businesses, with reports suggesting that “WhatsApp will start charging Nigerians.” However, the new policy does not mean ordinary Nigerians will have to pay to use WhatsApp.

The charges are specifically targeted at businesses using the WhatsApp Business Platform, also known as the WhatsApp Business API, which is designed for companies that handle customer communication at scale.

Under the new pricing structure, businesses will be charged based on the type of message delivered and the country of the recipient. Meta’s official pricing information confirms that businesses using the platform are billed per delivered message, rather than simply for sending a message.

From October 1, service messages and certain utility messages sent within WhatsApp’s 24-hour customer service window will become chargeable on the Business Platform. The 24-hour window itself is not being removed, but messages that previously received free treatment within that period will no longer necessarily be free for businesses using the platform.

For Nigerian numbers, reports based on Meta’s published pricing indicate that a chargeable utility-type message will cost about $0.0101, equivalent to roughly ₦14 at the exchange rate used in the reports. Marketing messages are considerably more expensive, at about $0.062, or approximately ₦84 per delivered message. Actual naira costs can change with exchange rates and applicable pricing updates.

The change could affect companies that depend heavily on WhatsApp for customer service, payment notifications, order updates, account information, sales and other automated communications. Banks, fintech companies, retailers, airlines and other large organisations that use the Business Platform to communicate with customers at scale are among those likely to feel the impact.

However, Nigerians who use the regular WhatsApp Messenger app will not suddenly be required to pay for their chats, calls or status updates because of this policy.

Businesses using the standard WhatsApp Business mobile application are also not the primary target of the new per-message charges. The change is focused on the Business Platform/API used for larger-scale and automated customer communications.

Meta has been moving WhatsApp Business toward a per-message pricing model. Its Business Platform currently recognises four main message categories: marketing, utility, authentication and service, with rates determined by the category and the recipient’s market.

For Nigerian businesses that send thousands or even millions of messages, the new charges could therefore add a significant communication expense and may force some companies to review how they use WhatsApp for customer engagement.

The October 1 change is part of Meta’s broader effort to monetise WhatsApp’s growing role as a business communication platform.

For ordinary WhatsApp users in Nigeria, however, there is no indication that they will begin paying a subscription fee simply to continue using the messaging application.

Shemariah Media reports that the development should therefore be understood as a new business messaging charge, not a general WhatsApp fee for Nigerians.

FG Commissions 100 Electric Buses to Ease Transport Burden on Civil Servants

The Federal Government has commissioned electric buses under the Renewed Hope Mass Transit Programme as part of efforts to reduce transportation challenges facing federal civil servants and improve workers’ welfare.

The buses were unveiled on Wednesday at Eagle Square in Abuja, with the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, describing the initiative as a major milestone in the government’s efforts to support civil servants.

The first phase of the programme involves the deployment of 37 buses out of the 100 electric buses approved under the initiative.

Walson-Jack described the launch as her “parting gift” to federal civil servants, coming less than 24 hours before the end of her tenure as Head of the Civil Service.

“What we have here is 37 buses, being the first instalment of the 100 Electric Buses,” she said.

She noted that transportation costs have a direct impact on workers’ finances, safety, punctuality and productivity, stressing that affordable and dependable transportation was important to the effective delivery of public services.

“For many Civil Servants, the daily commute shapes their finances, their safety, their punctuality, and ultimately their productivity,” she said.

According to her, the initiative is expected to help civil servants save money, reduce commuting risks and arrive at their workplaces with greater energy to perform their duties.

Walson-Jack disclosed that the buses would initially operate on selected routes under a pilot phase before being fully deployed. She added that the programme would eventually extend to Federal Secretariats across the states.

To ensure the sustainability of the initiative, she said a Special Purpose Vehicle had been established to oversee the management, maintenance and long-term operation of the buses.

The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, John Owan Enoh, described the project as more than a transportation intervention, saying it combines workers’ welfare with productivity, industrialisation and technology.

Enoh said each of the 100 electric buses could accommodate up to 200 passengers and travel a minimum of 200 kilometres on a full charge.

The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Olu Osanipin, also confirmed that the deployment would be carried out in phases.

According to Osanipin, the first deployment represents the beginning of the phased rollout, with the full complement of 100 electric buses expected to be deployed by December 2026.

Enoh commended the NADDC and other stakeholders involved in the project, while urging local manufacturers to invest in production facilities, increase local content and develop products capable of competing in the global market.

He said the Federal Government remained committed to ensuring that its economic reforms translate into industrial growth, employment opportunities, infrastructure development and improved living standards for Nigerians.
