30 Years After Tupac Shakur’s Killing, Keffe D Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, convicted of orchestrating the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.
Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been sentenced to 40 years to life for his role in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the man convicted of orchestrating the murder of legendary American rapper Tupac Shakur, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison, nearly three decades after the hip-hop star was shot dead in Las Vegas.

Davis, 63, was sentenced on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after being found guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon in August.

Judge Carli Kierny handed him 20 years to life for first-degree murder and an additional consecutive sentence of 20 years to life for the use of a deadly weapon, resulting in an aggregate sentence of 40 years to life.

Before delivering the sentence, the judge reportedly said she had listened to Davis repeat the same arguments for three years.

Tupac, one of the most influential figures in hip-hop history, was shot on September 7, 1996, while travelling in a black BMW driven by Marion “Suge” Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records.

The pair were stopped at a red light in Las Vegas when a white Cadillac pulled alongside their vehicle and gunshots were fired. Tupac sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died six days later at the age of 25.

Investigators spent decades trying to solve the killing before Davis emerged as a central figure in the case.

Prosecutors argued that Davis helped organise the attack, provided the firearm and participated in planning the retaliation following a fight earlier that evening involving Tupac’s entourage and Davis’ nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson.

However, prosecutors did not allege that Davis personally pulled the trigger. Their case centred on his alleged role in organising the attack that led to the rapper’s death.

The case gained renewed attention after Davis spoke publicly about the shooting in interviews and detailed his involvement in his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend.

He was arrested in 2023 and subsequently charged in connection with Tupac’s murder. His trial included nine days of testimony before the jury deliberated for approximately three hours and returned a guilty verdict in August 2026.

Davis has maintained his intention to appeal the conviction, meaning further legal proceedings may follow.

Tupac’s killing has remained one of the most discussed cases in music history, with his death leaving a lasting impact on hip-hop and popular culture. Nearly 30 years later, Davis’ sentencing represents a significant development in the long-running case.

Despite his conviction, questions surrounding the circumstances of the shooting and the wider events that led to Tupac’s death continue to attract public attention.

‘I Don’t Like Cooking’ - Davido’s Sister Sharon Reveals What She Told Her Husband While Dating

Sharon, the sister of Nigerian music star Davido, has revealed how she told her husband early in their relationship that although she knows how to cook, she does not enjoy cooking.

Sharon shared the experience during a recent episode of The Morayo Show, where she discussed her marriage, her upbringing in a wealthy family and her role in managing aspects of her brother Davido’s finances.

Reflecting on her relationship with her husband, whom she dated before they got married in 2013, Sharon said she has always valued open communication and was honest with him about her expectations from the beginning.

She recalled that during the early weeks and months of their relationship, she would visit his home and prepare meals for him.

According to Sharon, after preparing a meal, she asked him whether he enjoyed it. After he responded positively, she told him to enjoy it because she wanted him to know that she was capable of cooking.

She said she later made her position clear, telling him: “So now you know I know how to cook, but I don’t like cooking. And I hope that’s not going to be a problem.”

Sharon said she believed being honest about her preferences from the beginning helped establish clear expectations in the relationship.

She also spoke about growing up in a wealthy family, explaining that being born into a family with significant wealth does not necessarily mean having unlimited access to money.

“When you are born into a family office, family wealth, structure, there is structure. So you don’t just get to go into a coffer and take whatever,” she said.

According to her, members of wealthy families can still be expected to operate within budgets or financial limits.

She added that while people born into wealthy families may have access to more resources than the average person, their access to cash is not necessarily unlimited.

Sharon also discussed her brother Davido’s spending habits, particularly his interest in jewellery and cars, revealing that they regularly have conversations about his finances.

Olu Jacobs Dies at 84, Years After Repeated Death Rumours Were Debunked

Veteran Nigerian actor Olu Jacobs

Veteran Nigerian actor Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, has died at the age of 84.

His death was announced by his family on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva, and their son, Olusoji Jacobs, confirming the news.

In the family statement, Jacobs was described as “The Lion of Lufodo,” with his dates recorded as July 11, 1942, to September 16, 2026.

“It is with gratitude to God for a life well lived and fought, that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle. The Lion of Lufodo,” the family said.

The family also appealed to bloggers and social media influencers to respect their privacy as they mourn the veteran actor. The cause of his death had not been disclosed as of the time of publication.

Jacobs built a career spanning more than five decades across theatre, television and film. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before working in British television and international film productions and later becoming one of the most recognised figures in Nigeria’s film industry.

He appeared in numerous Nigerian productions and became known for his commanding screen presence and versatility. Among his honours was the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2007, while he also received other lifetime and industry achievement awards.

In 2011, Jacobs was conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, MFR, in recognition of his contribution to the Nigerian film industry.

His death comes after years of false reports claiming that he had died.

One of the most widely reported incidents occurred in June 2024, when social media posts claiming that Jacobs had died circulated widely. Joke Silva then confirmed that her husband was alive, telling reporters that he was “alive and doing just fine.” The Actors Guild of Nigeria also described the reports as false.

Africa Check reported at the time that the death claim was false and noted that similar rumours had previously circulated in 2021. Jacobs’ son, Olusoji, also provided a video of his father in response to the 2024 reports.

The 2024 episode was not the first such incident. TheCable reported that death rumours had resurfaced in 2021 and 2022, with the 2022 reports prompting Silva to warn people spreading unfounded claims that legal action could follow.

Jacobs’ later years were marked by health challenges, with Silva previously speaking publicly about his condition and his reduced public appearances. However, previous reports of his death were repeatedly denied by his family and colleagues.

The latest announcement is different from those earlier reports because it has been made by Jacobs’ own family, who confirmed that he died on September 16, 2026.

Olu Jacobs is survived by his wife, Joke Silva, their children and grandchildren.

Davido’s Friend Igho ‘Tiny’ Ubiribo Died After Penile Enchancement Procedure in Thailand

Davido’s friend Igho Ubiribo dies after cosmetic procedure

British-Nigerian businessman and socialite Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo has died at the age of 43 after undergoing a cosmetic procedure during a trip to Thailand, with a London inquest hearing that the treatment was linked to a fatal pulmonary embolism.

Ubiribo, also known by the names Ego and Denisi, reportedly travelled to Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, in March 2026 when he underwent a penile enhancement procedure at an unnamed clinic.

Evidence presented during an inquest at Inner West London Coroner’s Court indicated that about 40ml of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine was injected during the procedure.

After the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel, where they went for a massage.

He later complained of chest pain and collapsed. He was taken to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors diagnosed a pulmonary embolism.

Medical personnel reportedly attempted to resuscitate him for more than 100 minutes, but he died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination carried out in the United Kingdom subsequently found cellular material in Ubiribo’s lungs that was consistent with the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.

The inquest heard that the material had entered his bloodstream and contributed to the pulmonary embolism that ultimately caused his death. Coroner Jean Harkin concluded that the cosmetic treatment was responsible for the fatal condition.

Ubiribo was known within Nigerian and international social circles and was particularly recognised for his close friendship with Afrobeats star Davido.

He was married to Danielle Simba Allen, with whom he held a widely publicised wedding in Zimbabwe in 2022. His death was initially reported in March, although early accounts attributed it to a heart attack. The subsequent inquest has provided a different account of the circumstances surrounding his death.

Ubiribo’s death also brings renewed attention to the potential complications associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly procedures involving injectable fillers.

Hyaluronic acid is widely used in cosmetic treatments, but complications can occur if the substance enters a blood vessel or reaches other parts of the body.

The inquest findings have now provided further details about the final hours of the businessman, whose death had shocked friends, family and members of Nigeria’s entertainment and social circles.

Ubiribo was 43.

Wizkid’s Son Champz, Ochacho’s Son Ice King Clash Over Music

Wizkid’s Son Champz, Ochacho’s Son Ice King Clash Over Music

A growing music rivalry has emerged between Champz, son of Nigerian music star Wizkid, and Ice King Ochacho, son of billionaire businessman King Ochacho, with both young artistes trading words over their musical abilities.

The exchange gained attention after Ice King addressed Champz during a livestream amid reports of tension between the two youngsters.

Ice King appeared to take a swipe at Champz, using the phrase “Once a puppy, always a puppy” while also claiming that efforts had been made to resolve their differences.

“We tried to make peace, but he said no,” Ice King reportedly said during the livestream, before adding, “Nobody is better than the Iceking.”

Champz has now responded, making it clear that he does not consider himself to be in competition with Ice King.

In a lengthy response, Champz accused Ice King of trying to gain relevance by associating himself with Champz and his father, Wizkid. He also dismissed Ice King’s music and insisted that he has already established himself as an artiste in his own right.

Champz pointed to his growing fanbase, the performance of his music and his recent album, which he said reached No. 1 on Apple Music. He also referenced his ongoing tour as evidence of his progress in the music industry.

“I am not in competition with you, Ice King,” Champz said, while insisting that he would not continue responding to the young artiste.

He further warned Ice King to stop seeking attention from him and said he should focus on developing his own musical career rather than comparing himself with other artistes.

Champz also acknowledged that his father might not be pleased with his decision to respond, but said he felt the need to address the situation.

The exchange has since generated reactions online, with fans and social media users weighing in on the growing rivalry between the sons of two prominent Nigerian personalities.

Ice King, whose real name is Shedrack Mohammed Adah, is the son of businessman King Mohammed Adah, popularly known as Ochacho. The 13-year-old artiste has been building his music career and released his debut EP, I’m Back, in 2025.

Champz is the son of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid and has also been pursuing music, putting the young artiste in the spotlight because of his famous family background.

For now, the exchange appears to have intensified the competition between the two rising artistes, with neither side showing signs of backing down.
