Shivon Zilis, who shares four children with billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has opened up about their reported separation, describing the experience as painful while expressing gratitude for the family and memories they built together.

In an emotional statement, Zilis said the transition from being in love to letting go happened within a week and without warning, leaving her hurting despite the depth of her feelings for Musk.

“It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” she wrote.

Zilis said she found meaning in the relationship through what she described as the opportunity to give Musk a sense of deep understanding, stability and gentle love.

She reflected on the role she believed she played in providing a peaceful environment for Musk, describing their home as a place filled with happiness and affection.

“We were always his safe space,” she said, adding that she valued being a source of calm and comfort whenever he was going through difficult moments.

Zilis said she would miss Musk deeply, describing the relationship as one that had significantly influenced her life.

“I’ve loved him more than life itself,” she wrote, adding that Musk had taught her what she described as “100 lifetimes of knowledge” and given her a greater sense of meaning.

Despite the pain of the separation, Zilis said she remained grateful for their four children, describing them as the greatest source of joy in her life.

She also expressed hope that she and Musk would maintain a positive relationship as friends and co-parents.

“I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents,” she said.

While acknowledging that she was hurting, Zilis said she continued to care deeply about Musk and would support his happiness.

“God speed, Elon, the world is lucky to have you,” she concluded.
